Description
John Asdell with Robert Half is partnered with a national Real Estate Developer seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to liaison between the Corporate FP& A team and the Development team. As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in guiding the financial planning and budget management for large-scale construction projects coast-to-coast. Your expertise in analyzing complex financial data and understanding the nuances of construction budgets will be essential in driving successful outcomes for the company’s ventures.
Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including cash flow projections, ROI assessments, sensitivity analysis, and investment performance evaluations for commercial real estate development projects.
Construction Budget Management: Oversee and manage large construction budgets throughout various project phases, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and timely completion of projects.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate the financial feasibility of potential development opportunities and assess the impact of various scenarios on investment returns.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial risks and propose risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project profitability and success.
Reporting and Presentations: Prepare detailed financial reports, executive summaries, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment of financial goals and provide financial insights during project planning and execution.
Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions, analyzing financial records, lease agreements, property valuations, and conducting feasibility studies.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies throughout the development process.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Financial Analyst in commercial real estate development, with a specific focus on managing large construction budgets. This experience could be with a real estate developer or inside a corporate real estate department
Strong understanding of commercial real estate markets, development cycles, and industry dynamics.
Proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, Argus) and data analysis tools.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and draw meaningful insights from financial data.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
