Description

This position is for candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Requirements – Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Expertise in month end closings
Well-founded grasp of budget forecasting
Journal entries experience
Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Proven knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Practical knowledge of variance analysis
General familiarity with Cash Flow Forecasts
Quality experience with Quickbooks Online
Foundational knowledge in financial statement preparation
Proficiency in US GAAP
Earlier work involving Cycle Count
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
CPA/MBA preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
