Job Summary
The System Finance Manager is a results-oriented finance role that reports directly to the Regional Vice President with dotted line responsibility to the Divisional Finance Director. This position is responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting and maintaining sound financial practices across the system. This highly visible role will require a candidate who is adept at client communications, big picture thinking, and has a service mindset.
Applies sound performance improvement techniques to meet or exceed budget through gap analysis and raising financial awareness and financial competence of the operations team.
Analysis of results by site, region and system collaborating closely with the operational team to develop plans to resolve challenges that impact financial and service quality results.
Creates and maintains appropriate reporting at service location, region, and system.
Ensures accuracy in client billing and all client-level communications.
Applies benchmark and sensitivity analysis as measures for performance improvement.
Supports operations team in interpreting and employing financial statements and tools to drive excellent results.
Supports all system review meetings from a financial perspective.
o Including, but not limited to creating appropriate reports and presenting to site level leadership.
Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process for both the location, system and Compass and assist with the presentation to appropriate entities.
Coordinates the forecast process and work with the operations team to develop specific, measurable action plans to rectify any performance issues.
Provides ad-hoc financial reporting as needed.
Meets regularly, and as needed, with system’s operations team and client leadership.
Acts as financial advisor and business partner to the RVP.
Supports RVP in client negotiations, contractual discussions, AR management.
o Provides supervision to any on site financial staff.
Measures compliance with core programs notably purchasing and safety.
Ensures sound financial control throughout the system and complies with Internal Audit policies and procedures such as:
o Internal Control Review Reporting compliance
o Audit report recommendations are implemented promptly
o Asset protection disciplines are in place
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred
CPA or MBA, a plus
3+ years of experience in a similar position
Able to conduct analysis and tasks with limited supervision
Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to set goals, objectives, and timelines to efficiently meet tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional image
Ability to exercise informal authority to influence a diverse team
Ability to present and communicate with senior level executives
Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Experience with SAP or equivalent, and Business Intelligence, a plus
Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
On an as needed basis; could be up to 40%, but the majority of travel will likely be based in the Charlotte-metro area.
