Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. What you get to do every single day
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

CPA/MBA preferred
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
General familiarity with Prepare Financial Statements
Adeptness in financial statements consolidation
Inventory analysis experience highly preferred
Practical knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements
Cost accounting experience required
Proficiency in Annual Budget
Experience with Budget Processes
Supervising experience
Annual Operating Budget experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements
