The VP of Finance directs and oversees all the financial activities of the corporation, including preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. This key role provides strategic leadership by working directly with the CEO and Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies, and is an active member of the senior leadership team. The position is responsible for the following disciplines: Corporate Finance; Operations Finance; Treasury & Tax, and Information Technology. This position is a corporate officer and has signature authority for the company.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develops and maintains a cost/operational management system that will accurately reflect product costs, margin analysis, variance analysis, and measure cost drivers as well as cost savings to improve profitability.
• Develops and maintains strong General Accounting and Treasury functions that produce company financial information in accordance with GAAP and FASB guidelines and ensures that working capital is available to support operations and expansion initiatives.
• Oversees the following financial functions:
• Billing, collections, credit, and accounts receivable
• Eggs payable – the payment for eggs from various producer and vendor sources
• Cost accounting and General financial reporting

• Oversee insurance coverages for various flocks owned by the related parties.
• Oversees all bank and lender relationships and provides regular communication with lender(s.)
• Oversee cash management/working capital while maintaining close supervision and monitoring of cash activity.
• Oversees tax reporting for the company,
• Oversee/manage/evaluate the company’s insurance coverages,
• Manage the Health & Welfare Plan by overseeing the annual plan audit and monitoring all medical, drug, and dental plan costs.
• Oversee the 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan from a program-level.
• Develops credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the senior leadership team and CEO in performing their responsibilities.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with a minimum of 15 years of accounting experience is required.
• Manufacturing industry or food processing experience is preferred
• CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
• Exemplifies the highest ethical standards and appropriate professional demeanor.
• Decisive judgment and discretion in independent decision making.
• Strong communications skills (written / verbal / presentation) across varied internal and external constituents, including department and non-department employees, management officials, vendors, customers, and community and trade associates
• Exercise the highest degree of confidentiality of sensitive information, including personnel records, legal documents, financial data, internal business/trade secrets, external business/trade secrets, and salaries.
