Processwork Uk are looking for a Part-time Finance Manager (maternity cover) to oversee the financial matters of the organisation and collaborate closely with the treasurer, bookkeeper and relevant committees, playing an integral role in the school.
ResponsibilitiesOverview of year end account preparation and audit processes.Preparing annual budget (with input from budget holders) and communicating with stakeholders including presenting at finance and remuneration committee meetings and RSPOPUK committee (trustee board) meetings.
Budget monitoring quarterly budget variance reporting.Overview of diploma expenditure and income and regular monitoring.Overview of public events and 1y course income and expenditure and regular monitoring.
Liaising with bookkeeper on authorisations for payments and other budget monitoringCommunicating financial decisions with wider organisation.
With the bursary committee, participation in bursary processes and allocations.In collaboration with the treasurer, providing financial reports to the board (RSPOPUK committee) for twice yearly meetings.
Contribute to improved efficiency of our financial processes.Other finance tasks as required. Liaison and supportYou will be liaising with the following roles and structures : Treasurer for regular check-ins and meetingsAdministrator who coordinates activitiesBookkeeper who keeps the books on Xero and manages paymentsCompany secretary for compliance with Companies House and Charities CommissionSchool coordination group participation at quarterly meetingsFinance and remuneration committee presenting at 2 meetings per termRSPOPUK committee (board of trustees) for twice annual meetingsOther circles for budgeting and as required Essential skills and experienceFinance skills and experienceExperience of preparing an organisational budget and negotiating with budget holdersExperience of managing a budget and reporting on variancesExcellent written and spoken communication skillsAbility to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, students, trustees and other stakeholdersAbility to work on own initiative and to meet deadlinesWillingness to ask for support when necessaryConfident in arranging and running meetings with colleaguesOrganised and effective approach to managing projects and keeping recordsWillingness to give and receive feedback in a supportive learning environment Desirable attributes, skills and experienceInterest in the ethos of Processwork and the schoolRelevant accounting qualification or equivalentExperience of working for a charity, social enterprise or similarInterest in or experience with working as part of alternative organisational structures such a sociocratic or holocratic systemFamiliarity with XeroExperience of budgeting for fundraising applicationsContractual detailsThe post will be for 13-15 months with a desired start date of 1st March 2024.
The person will be self-employed, working from their own premises.We envisage a 2-4 week handover period with the current postholder.
There will be a progress review after three months to discuss how the postholder is settling in.The organisation is in a process of growth and evolution.
Therefore, three months before the end of the contract, we will review with the postholder their and our future plans.Average 7-8 hours per week over 48 weeks per year.

We offer a diploma programme and shorter training courses in Processwork.In 2021, we started a gradual transition in the management of the school to a new school structure based on a holacratic / sociocratic system.
The new structure has involved devolving responsibility to small groupings or circles which have oversight and accountability for defined tasks and decisions.
Each circle has a lead link who is the liaison person and is responsible for communicating with other circles. The new circles are also designed to harness the collective wisdom of our membership by involving students and alumni in the some of the circle processes.
