Assembly is looking for a Client Finance Manager. The Client Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of North America client finance including but limited to, revenue recognition, revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, media reconciliation, financial analysis, and monitoring timely and accurate completion of the billing and collections cycle. The position will work side-by-side with the company’s client-facing staff, centralized accounting team and may have some direct interaction with clients as needed. This role will report to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain monthly revenue schedule
Prepare monthly revenue journal entries; must understand debits and credits
Revenue reporting with budget/reforecast comparison to management; revenue reporting to corporate via Hyperion Financial Management system
Ensure revenue recognition is compliant with Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP
Inquire with the account team to understand variances between monthly actual vs forecast
Analyze contracts and create project job codes in various systems to track profitability
Perform WIP analysis; facilitate the billing process by working with the billing department and the account team to ensure WIP is cleared and converted to accounts receivable
Partner with portfolio entities to communicate and reconcile intercompany transactions on monthly basis
Help support quarterly review, financial audits, client audits, and tax preparations.
Actively participate in analyzing financials and metrics in actuals, monthly reforecasts, and budget submissions, assessing trends and key business drivers as well as risks and opportunities
Work closely with Client teams by being their strategic financial business partner in properly developing, reviewing, and approving scopes of work, and pricing staff plans for Client engagements
Define and analyze key areas of the business, including client profitability and staff utilization
Provide ad hoc analytical support, responding to various requests from multiple departments, and perform special projects as needed
Seek and implement ways to improve, streamline, and automate processes
Extremely well-organized with strong people skills and ability to evaluate and communicate with Clients and Agency leaders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of experience in a finance/accounting
Media agency experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, modeling, etc.)
Ability to quickly pull together/consolidate data for management review
Independent and entrepreneurial; ability to work with minimal direction
Strong skills in communication, attention to detail, organization, teamwork collaboration, and taking ownership of deliverables
Ability to handle competing deliverables with quick turnaround times
Experience with Mediaocean (formerly Donovan Data Systems) highly preferred
