The Opportunity

We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the Finance function in the U.S. as we plan for the next stage of growth. You will act as an advisor and collaborate closely with executive leadership across the business.You will significantly influence, develop and implement our strategic plan to lead the Finance function during a phase of rapid growth and transformation.

To achieve this you will:

• Serve as an advisor and collaborate with key stakeholders to provide expert advice, guidance and support on Finance strategy and assist initiatives financially across the U.S.
• Set performance goals to be achieved to underpin the strategy and financial plan, enhancing the organizations sustainable growth and profitability objectives
• Own the finance functions across the organization, providing inspirational and effective leadership to the finance team
• Review requirements for system development to support service delivery. This may include supporting the development of a new ERP integration with finance
• Work with the CEO and executive team to ensure that the business is financially sound and that the finances are managed in line with the agreed business plans
• Ensure the quality and delivery of reporting by the Finance Team across the group internally and externally, including Budgets, Forecasts, Management Accounts, Executive Packs (collaboration with HR, Legal, Talent Team)
• Responsible for the overall profitability of the organization ensuring that this is correctly reported by business
• Provide proactive and commercial strategic financial recommendations to allow growth and work on commercial and operational opportunities
• Support business planning by working with teams including pricing teams to model potential future work – e.g., costs of warehouse, freight modeling, and business opportunities around expansion of an existing programs; modeling potential new programs
• Present results and projects to the CEO, Global Chief Financial Officer and Executives across all businesses.
• Ensure all accounting and tax statutory requirements are met
• Develop appropriate controls related to expenditure and budgeting
• Manage and create new processes and policies as the business evolves
• Mentor the Finance teams and ensure the team members are trained and grow in line with the business requirement
• Manage third party relationships including Audit, Tax, Banks
• Ensure accurate annual accounts and tax computations are completed and filed on time
• Lead the development of key organization-wide operational policies (e.g., information security, safeguarding), reviewing and evaluating policies, consulting with wider teams where necessary
• Review the internal bookkeeping, payment, and accounting processes, inclusive of manual to automated processes and improving these systems in line with scaling
• Ensure team culture is nurtured, and staff can work effectively in a compliant way
• Provide proactive, strategic and financial advice to improve profitability, plan future growth, allocate resources and reduce costs
• Execute the finance transformation program by working with IT to embed automation
• Review and update the Finance Systems to continuously enhance efficiency and improve accuracy
• Build on the culture of strong financial discipline through controls, compliance, policy and empowerment of staff.
• Deliver support on acquisition targets through the provision of due diligence, and integration of newly acquired companies and associated financial compliances. Set up of new entities where appropriate
• Oversee of the organizations tax strategy, policy, and compliance
• Communicate key financial messages and issues in a proactive, transparent, and concise manner ensuring all business stakeholders and managers are aware of issues (both positive and negative) impacting on the finances of the group
• Ensure transfer pricing and inter-company transactions are managed appropriately

Experience and skills:

• Considerable experience leading a Finance function in a hyper growth dynamic environment
• Proven leadership credentials and the gravitas to lead a Finance team and manage complex work streams
• Commercially minded and able to strategically steer the business
• Able to deep dive, get into the numbers, detail and problem solve
• IT/ERP systems acumen in order to understand dependencies between functions and departments
• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a combination of relevant experience and education
• Certifications such as CPA, CFA, and CMA are preferred
• 7+ years of managerial experience required
• 7+ years with an extensive background in senior and strategic Finance Director positions in Public and Listed businesses required
• Ability to handle changing priorities, remaining calm and using good judgment when working in stressful or transformational situations
• Experience leading and managing a business through the IPO process is a plus
• A Player/Coach leadership style
• Analytical, data savvy, with advanced IT skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to operate at all levels internally and externally
• Has the intellectual ability to operate in a complex, dynamic environment at strategic and operational levels
