Performance Optimal Health Looking for Accounts Receivable Specialist at Greenwich, CT Full Time

Join Performance Optimal Health as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. With over 20 years of experience throughout Connecticut and New York, we have successfully launched our first site in Naples, Florida. We are excited to continue growing and building upon each team. We are seeking an individual with a passion for health and wellness, and a willingness to work within a team of individuals focused on impacting the lives of our clients in a positive way. This person would report directly into the billing supervisor and work alongside a team of seven individuals.

We are currently looking for someone to work M-F 9AM – 5:30PM.

Key Areas of Ownership (But not limited to)

• Contacts and works account receivable (AR) from AR report, denial management system, and accounts assigned, to assure balances are collected and resolved in the quickly and efficiently. 
• Identifies and communicates reimbursement, unpaid balances, and denial issues with team members, management, clinicians, and patients
• Have working knowledge of fees schedules and contracted insurance rates to identify discrepancies in payment.
• Reviews and acts upon insurance denials, underpayment, and claim rejections. Takes appropriate action regarding recurring issues and substantial dollar amounts in adjustments and denied claims
• Appeals claims that are not processed as expected based on department policy
• Appeals denied visits on patient’s behalf following appeal policy. 
• Investigate, communicate, and resolve customer inquiries, communicating with management regarding difficult collection issues
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation regarding AR calls and reprocessing
• Maintains up to date information for patient accounts including correct demographic, authorization, and insurance carrier information
• Attends training classes or webinars as directed as well as company and department meetings as required.
• Work closely with a team of individuals
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (Associates Degree is a bonus)
• At least one to two years of experience in a related position
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly proficient with Microsoft excel
• Strong technical skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong customer service skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent client service and professional demeanor in communicating with staff members at all levels throughout the institution, as well as with vendors and others
