Reports to: Food Service Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in English. Should have basic knowledge of standards of sanitation and food preparation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Cooking and preparation of foods as determined by the day’s menu for residents and staff.
1. Plans cooking schedule to have All already on meal time.
2. Responsible for pre-preparation and preparation of the meal of the day.
3. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work area after every meal.
4. Checks quality of food as to storage and fresh delivery.
5. Labels and dates leftovers.
6. Reports to supervisor as to what is to be done with leftovers.
7. Ensures complete sanitation in cooks’ area.
8. Fills out production schedules for the accuracy of preparation of food and portion control.
9. Is courteous in dealing with all members of the staff.
10. Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in preparing meals that are attractive and eye appealing.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
12. Tastes all food before serving.
