PathWays of the River Valley Looking for Accounts Payable and General Accounting Specialist at Claremont, New Hampshire Full Time

Do you like working with numbers and have accounts payable experience? Do you prefer working in a fast-paced environment and staying busy? If so, our new AP and General Accounting Specialist position may be for you! In this position, you will complete a variety of clerical and accounting functions specifically related to Accounts Payable and General Accounting in our Business Services Group (BSG). This position will initially be on-site and may become a hybrid position based on preference s and department needs. This position:

• Performs data entry, balances input, and confirms the accuracy of data and reports.
• Maintains assigned data, files, logs, and reports accurately.
• Processes incoming USPS mail and monitors/handles the vendor email inbox. Brings outgoing BSG mail to the post office.
• Checks and Codes invoices/check requests and enter them into accounting software. Prepares spreadsheet for invoices that affect various cost centers (like utilities, gas cards)
• Prepares weekly check run and ACH files based on CFO’s directions. Provides payment reports to CFO and CEO after every check run.
• Responds to any vendor and/or employee inquiries
• Handles all vendor-related correspondence for W-9 forms, contracts, and certificates of liability.
• Handles General Accounting projects as assigned by Accounting Manager and CFO.

If you have a High School diploma or equivalent with three years of related experience, you may be a fit. You also need proficiency with MS Office and experience with and/or ability and willingness to learn automated accounting systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must as well as demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. You need to be detail-oriented with excellent accuracy and organizational skills.

For this position, you will need a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation as well as successfully complete a comprehensive background check process.
