Founded in 1868, Oregon Humane Society is the Northwest’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization with one of the highest adoption rates in the nation. The Team*
The VP of Finance will be a member of a collaborative Executive Team. This person will serve as a part of the Executive Team to help ensure organizational alignment with OHS’ strategic objectives and priorities. The team identifies the changes needed to drive the organization’s strategic direction and manages internal and external relationships to achieve this goal.

The Position*
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and serving as an integral member of the Executive Team, the Vice President of Finance and Administration will be responsible for the development of Oregon Humane Society’s financial, technology and facility management strategies, contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals, while serving as a strategic thought-partner to their peers. In addition to the strategic components, the VP will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures in the finance, technology and facility’s realms.

Supervises a team of consisting of Finance (5), Information Technology (5) and Facilities team (14).
ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports Directly To: Chief Operating Officer
Often Engages Directly With: President & CEO, other members of the Executive Team, leaders across the organization and members of the Board of Directors.

Work Environment Conditions & Physical Requirements*
This position interacts and collaborates will all levels of the organization, including OHS staff, executive team members, board members, donors, general-public, external vendors, volunteers, and supporters. Contact and communication is carried out through face-to-face, telephone and digital interactions. Excellent customer service skills are essential to success. Communication must be clear, understandable, professional and respectful in all circumstances.
