ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Service Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Service / Fixed Operations Manager to run a profitable and efficient Service Department. They will aid in accomplishing departmental objectives, team building and ensure effective operation and performance of the Service department.
To champion OpenRoad’s Climates Goals.
Assist the Service/Fixed Operations Manager with training, motivate, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all parts department staff.
Assuring that all department staff have a thorough understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
Perform daily duties of Service Advisor: inspect vehicles, set client appointments, ensure fulfillment of Service work, open/close RO, upsell maintenance.
Assist in development of training guidelines for all new Service Advisors + Service Lot Associates.
Oversee Pre-Owned vehicle inspections (UCI) and mechanical reconditioning.
Assist in developing, enforcing and monitoring guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Advise the Service/Fixed Operations Manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition, and discuss with the Service Manager any ideas for improvements.
Participate with the Servicer/Fixed Operations Manager in establishing and planning of department goals and objectives.
Must follow Company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Well organized and possess strong time management skills.
Very process oriented and results focused
Strong MS Office, Excel, Accounting systems knowledge, ie: Reynolds, CDK.
Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and to be able to build relationships.
Highly self-motivated and have the ability to learn quickly and be open to challenges.
Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
A valid Washington State Driver’s License with a good driving record.
