The Position
The Strategic Finance team runs the annual update of the Long-Term Forecast (LTF) for North America Operations (NAO). The process relies on collaboration with cross-functional subject matter experts, high level of market understanding and excellent analytical capabilities to develop and maintain complex forecasting models. Leads development of financial analysis for internal development options based on a holistic market view including scenario modelling and trade-off analysis to provide strategic recommendations across the Novo Nordisk portfolio. Supports evaluation of external business development opportunities.
Relationships
Reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance. Internal interactions include stakeholders across the NAO organization as well as global counterparts to ensure long-term forecast coordination across Novo Nordisk. External relationships may include interactions with various subject matter experts and vendors based on the needs of special projects or implementation of new programs.
Essential Functions
Leads and facilitates Long-Term Forecast process of therapeutic area
Responsible for maintaining Long-Term forecasting model and other financial modelling tools
Responsible for long-term financial analysis within therapeutic area including scenario modelling, trade-off analysis and preparation of recommendation
Supports evaluation of external business development opportunities within therapeutic area, and provide support as needed for cross therapeutic area portfolio reviews
Responsible for monitoring and raising key market events impacting therapeutic area to the attention of the team
Actively engages and collaborates with key stakeholders across Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Insights & Analytics and FP&A teams
Responsible for clearly communicating findings to stakeholders at multiple levels, ensuring cross-functional alignment on the long-term outlook
Serves as liaison and strong collaborator with Global stakeholders
Seen as a team player by all stakeholders
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required. Novo Nordisk requires all employees, both Field and Office-based, to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine prior to the first date of employment. Qualifications
A Bachelor ‘s degree in Accounting, Finance and or relevant field of study is required, advanced degree is preferred
A minimum of 4 years of progressively relevant commercial planning, financial planning, strategic planning, merger and acquisition or consultancy experience required. Two years of relevant experience may be substituted for an advanced degree
Functional expert in Excel and PowerPoint. Hands-on experience with financial modelling and/or sales forecasting strongly preferred
Demonstrated expertise in structuring complex financial analysis based on a variety of data sources
Understanding of the external marketplace and familiarity within a therapeutic area preferred
Holistic thinker with ability to analyze and interpret complex problems
Ability to collaborate across all functions and levels; ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to financial and non-financial stakeholders at multiple levels
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
