Position Summary

The Accounting Coordinator / Staff Accountant is responsible for properly performing accounting tasks related to monthly journal entries for the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Pelicans G-League affiliate, and assisting in the maintenance and processing of accounts payable for all teams.

What You Will Be Doing

• General Ledger-Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly entries
• Daily cash journal entries
• Reconciliation of credit cards to supporting details
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Assemble, process, review, and research of invoices and expense reports
• Setup recurring invoices and new vendors in AP system
• Run check reports, print and mail checks weekly and when requested
• File support of checks and maintain vendor files
• Financial Audit-Assist and interact with external auditors
• Other projects as deemed necessary

What You’ll Bring

• College Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 2+ years experience in accounting
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word efficiently and effectively
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work at a fast pace and consistently meet all deadlines
• Ability to change or adapt work practices, priorities, or procedures, or to reschedule activities in response to changing conditions or multiple work demands.
