Overview:
Neuropsychiatric Hospitals, a national leader in providing comprehensive psychiatric and complex medical care, is seeking a highly and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant .
Our Senior Accountant will perform analysis duties including but not limited to providing accounting and financial analysis to support day to day operations. Analyzing financial information to assist with producing forecasts of business and economic conditions; preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to US and IFRS reporting and procedural standards; analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice; reporting to management regarding the finances of the establishment thru daily, weekly and monthly reporting; developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual cost developing, implementing, modifying and documenting record keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology; surveying operations to ascertain accounting needs; recommending, developing, and maintaining solutions such as cost reductions programs, assisting in short and long range planning and various other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Our Senior Accountant work in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other Corporate staff
Duties will include:
Provide accounting and treasury related activities for NPH’s business operations, including accounting and treasury support for NPH’s pending Joint Venture
Daily, weekly and monthly account reconciliations, booking of journal entries, creation of sub-ledgers, consolidation / consolidating, supporting the movement of cash, payment of vendors, etc. GAAP research is required for proper accounting
Review of internal controls
Advising the Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer on existing and evolving billing/operating/financial issues
Join data from multiple sources to present a clear, unified picture of the organization’s operations
Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports for the Chief Financial Officer as directed.
Floats to other departments and facilities as assigned and directed.
Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality. Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, electronic or oral disclosures.
Displays concern and initiative. Is resourceful and calm in emergencies.
Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
Cooperates and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors
Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws, as well as hospital polices that apply to assigned duties.
Complies with hospital expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct.
Complies with federal and hospital requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.
Understands and adheres to NPH’s compliance standards as they appear in NPH’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and hospital regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified
Qualifications:
Education: 4 year Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred
Experience: 2-5 years of Public Accounting or Corporate Accounting
Skill: Advanced proficiency with Excel, Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, Detail oriented and well organized, Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated influencing abilities, Must possess excellent analytical and conceptual skills, Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with familiarity of billing software
