The Commerce Finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s digital transformation responsible for the financial compliance of product launches and for the accuracy and completeness of Microsoft Online Financial Reporting.
(C+E) is Microsoft’s Online Commerce platform that supports billing, payment and collection, developer payouts and fulfillment through all of Microsoft’s online marketplaces (Azure, Office, Xbox, ~~~, etc.). As we modernize our commercial offerings and converge our consumer storefronts, the volume of transactions on the platform is experiencing a very significant growth.
Summary of Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager with strong Controllership and Financial Analysis skills who will lead a team focused on supporting the credit card settled transactions on Commerce and the associated Accounts Receivables (A/R) portfolio and Systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring the compliance and accuracy of Microsoft’s Online A/R positions across the various lines of business and platforms. This role also oversees the accounting and financial reporting of our Dynamic 365 consumer business. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to partner closely with a variety of stakeholders (Finance, Corporate Accounting, Global treasury and Financial Service, and Engineering teams).

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Manager scope will include, but not limited to, the following:
Develop a solid understanding of end-to-end processes, data flows, control environment, and financial systems supporting the Modern Consumer and Commercial online businesses.
Partner with Engineering to develop new reports, tools, and system functionality to enhance the completeness and accuracy of our financial statements. This includes providing finance requirements and participating in user acceptance testing.
Lead a team of highly capable people with exceptional and inclusive people management and leadership capabilities.
Model and foster a collaborative, inclusive, growth mindset culture within the team and business stakeholders.
Challenge existing norms or courses of action, facilitating fully informed decision making. Continuously create clarity by asking the right questions and challenging assumptions.
Drive finance rhythm of business for month-end close in accordance with organizational timelines. Review and provide guidance as necessary. Assist team with audit or controls & compliance queries.
Conduct investigations and drive solutions into identified system and financial issues. Work proactively with various business partners to solve open issues and ensure changes are covered with appropriate financial processes and have sound internal controls in place.
Develop strong relationships with business partners and take a leadership role on cross-group initiatives to improve business and reporting processes and solve problems. Provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure all risks and issues are appropriately captured, mitigated, and managed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, translating financial analysis and insights into meaningful and actionable business communications and recommendations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A Professional BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, business with a minimum of 8+ years of progressive work experience in finance with an emphasis on Controllership/Accounting, Controls and Compliance, Financial Systems and Audit
People management experience preferred. High emotional intelligence, ability to build & sustain relationships at multiple levels across Microsoft
Proven ability to partner, build trust, communicate with and influence key stakeholders across varying levels to a common goal
Self-starter who thrives in an ambiguous and fast paced environment with evolving technology and business trends
Highly effective individual who can work independently with excellent organization skills
Strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities and the ability to think strategically
Ability to manage multiple, competing projects/priorities under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and deliver results
1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports
1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles
1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization
1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent certification
