We are currently meeting with qualified candidates to find a high-performance, hands-on, experienced, accounting manager to help Messenger build and lead a team that creates a solid financial and accounting foundation for the company. We are looking for someone with strong accounting experience, a willingness to dive in and do the work, and the ability to manage a small but growing team. Among many responsibilities, the accounting manager will advise on budgets, financial strategy, financial reporting, and forecasting. They will also be responsible for managing the accounting team, helping audit and ledger preparation, and supporting managers across teams with financial procedures. They will be on a constant mission to streamline our cost accounting, payroll, and financial processes. Finally, they must enjoy having fun as part of an amazing, growing team that creates incredible environments.
Founded in 1925, Messenger is an innovative design and fabrication company seeking a Finance Manager. Messenger is unique, and our state-of-the-art design studios are backed by our 50,000 square foot production facility in Seattle, making us a one-stop shop for many of our clients. Our facility houses flatbed printing, full-service CNC routing, automotive-grade painting, a metal shop, and a woodshop.

Objectives
· Serve as a highly valued and engaged member of the Messenger Corporation leadership team helping to guide the direction, growth, and success of the organization
· Provide financial updates to the organization by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
· Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape
· Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
· Ensure accurate and timely job costing information is available to drive overall company profitability
· Develop and maintain a financial model and budget to ensure profitability and inform decision making throughout the organization
· Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development
· Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
· Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
· Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
· Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
· Oversee and support our accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, engagement, and productivity
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
· 10+ years of proven accounting experience
· Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA
· Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
· Strong understanding of job costing, manufacturing, and revenue recognition principles

Preferred Qualifications
· 3-5+ years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
· CPA strongly preferred
· Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
· Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes
· Exemplary history of financial project management
· Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
