Position Summary: The Director of Business & Finance, Pharmacy will assume a pivotal role within the organization, overseeing financial strategy, budgeting, and business operations pertaining to pharmacy services. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Chief Pharmacy & Therapeutics Officer, the Director will manage a small team of analysts and program administrators. This role encompasses responsibility for multiple sites, including three hospitals and various outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and executes an enterprise-wide financial strategy for pharmaceutical care in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacy Officer and peer directors.
• Partners closely with Finance, Patient Care Services finance team, Supply Chain, Office of General Counsel, and Compliance to ensure the achievement of pharmacy financial targets and business goals.
• Collaborates with Pharmacy leadership to develop operating and capital budgets for pharmacy cost centers.
• Prepares and monitors monthly financial reports for inpatient, ambulatory, specialty, and research pharmacy, including forecasting drug expenses for budget planning.
• Directs business operations and financial management for the pharmacy enterprise, encompassing Pharmacy Supply Chain, Pharmacy Finance, Specialty Pharmacy, and the 340B Program.
• Works with Revenue Integrity to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the revenue cycle.
• Leads pharmacy personnel involved in purchasing, receiving, billing, 340B program analysis, and pharmacy business analysis.
• Provides support for business plans and financial modeling projects.
• Establishes vendor relations and negotiates contracts with support from relevant departments and agencies.
• Contributes as an integral member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
• The candidate should possess a master’s degree in business administration, Health Care Administration, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of prior pharmacy business-related experience is required.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and data analysis.
• Knowledge of budget management.
• Experience with contracts and agreements.
• Proficiency in contemporary analysis software.
• Ability to effectively manage employees, negotiate with peer-level managers, and mediate solutions to conflicting issues.
