LUFKIN INDUSTRIES Looking for Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) at Houston, TX Full Time

The FP&A Director will be a highly driven, analytical and creative professional. This role oversees all of the Corporate/Operational FP&A, modelling and analytics and will be critical in the definition, coordination and development of the management reporting, budget, forecast and modelling processes in Lufkin worldwide.

The FP&A Director will work with the senior management of the corporate finance team to evaluate and potentially implement new systems and processes to drive continuous improvement in the FP&A function, as well as manage the modelling and operational FP&A team, with the aim at maintaining, developing and expanding the corporate financial model. This critical function acts as the analytical engine of the company to monitor performance, provide insights and drive optimal business decision making. The individual will be a core part of the global Finance leadership team.

This position will be responsible for all FP&A and modelling activities at the Corporate and Business Segment levels and will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management, including industry/peer group comparisons, corporate and project modelling, supporting M&A work, and other projects requested by senior management.

This position will also be a key individual who will work closely with our Private Equity Ownership group on key analytics impacting operations and valuations and act as a go to person for their data requests.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Lead the yearly Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process within the organization, ensuring there is a clear definition on workflows, responsibilities and timeline.
• Coordinate, drive, review, challenge and submit the AOP and monthly/quarterly forecasts for Lufkin, on time and of high quality.
• Review and develop proposals for improving the management reporting process including a documented process.
• Preparation of weekly sales flash, monthly flash reports, Monthly Operating Review (MOR) in coordination with the Operational FP&A leads.
• Continuously improve the flash report, MOR process and create/revamp the KPI reporting, length of reports, way of presenting (graphical approach) to help senior management to focus on the critical matters.
• Lead the digitalization of the FP&A function. OneStream is currently underway to be implemented to help drive automation of reports etc.
• Prepare financial models to share with external stakeholders, for example Lenders and ensure the consistency of any data supplied to such stakeholders across the business.
• Identify and understand business challenges, propose and create solutions.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
• Supervise, train and develop the FP&A team.
• Key liaison with Private Equity ownership group to provide financial support on company performance, valuations and business development.

Required Education & Preferred Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, M&A, or other related fields.
• 3+ years manufacturing and service background with experience in Oil & Gas industry preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel (including data analysis/pivot tables), power point, and financial modelling tools.
• OneStream experience preferred.
• Experience in JD Edwards ERP system, PowerBI a plus.
