Finance Manager – Merchandising Finance
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The principle purpose of the Finance Manager – Merchandising Finance is to provide tools, processes and financial analysis to the Inventory, Replenishment & Planning (IRP) team in support of enterprise forecast and planning cycles. This team serves as the primary center of excellence for the inventory finance team, which includes establishing planning/forecasting processes, tools, and templates, developing business cases and measurement plans for strategic initiatives, and serving as the finance subject matter expert to the inventory analytics teams.
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:
Coordinates the forecasting and variance analysis processes for various levels of management
Assists in the development and timely delivery of analytics and leadership presentations
Be the subject matter expert (SME) and thought leader on inventory metrics and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Drives the creation or improvement of new and existing tools and reporting in support of business partners
Builds partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs and opportunities, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, and monitoring progress and results
Works independently to prepare analyses, translating findings into clear, understandable themes, and identifying complete, consistent, and actionable insights and recommendations
Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date expertise in subject area, collaborating cross-functionally to solve business problems
Identifies, recommends, and implements ways to address improvement opportunities
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics or related field
4+ years of experience in FP&A, finance, or analytical role
2+ years of experience with financial forecasting or analytic modeling
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Power Point
Ability to understand Merchandising/Retail Strategy
Experience in structuring and writing formal documents, developing and delivering group presentations, project planning, and/or cross-functional collaboration
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in related field
Inventory Finance experience a plus
Experience with IBM TM1 or other data intelligence tool
