Job Description:
This sub family is responsible for advising line management on all financial aspects of their organizational unit including developing and driving financial forecasts and analyzing the organizations revenue and costs. Duties may include interpreting operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the business, evaluating and approving expenditure decisions, identifying operational risk factors that may impact the business performance of the organization and presenting key business insights and recommendations to achieve the organization’s current and future goals. Other duties include making specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and both profit and process improvements.
IMPACT: Provides measurable input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans in order to implement organizational strategies. Typically does not have budget accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.
COMPLEXITY: Problems and issues faced are unclear, and may require understanding of broader set of issues, and may be difficult. Problems typically involve multiple families, projects or customers.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates with parties within and outside of own project/family, which may include internal and external constituents depending upon the area. Requires ability to influence others outside of own project/family area on policies, practices and procedures.
LEADERSHIP & TALENT MANAGEMENT: Manages a small to mid-sized team consisting of experienced professionals. Leads, directs and reviews the work of team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports.
KNOWLEDGE: Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one area. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
CIVIT within EMS is looking for an experienced finance manager to support our Mission Centric Customer Service line of business in Gaithersburg, MD. This position will be leading the financial strategies, program execution and leadership of 3+ program financial analysts. Candidate will need to be able to multi-task across multiple programs and effectively communicate with the various program managers and operations staff.
Team leadership and management
Program Financial Management
Formation of annual operating plan
Monthly financial forecasting, EAC formation
Month end close, financial analysis, variance analysis
Proposal strategy and pricing support
Effective communication with Contracts, subcontracts and HR
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience
2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams
MS Excel advanced / Data modeling
Effective communicator
Preferred Qualifications:
Proposal experience
Leadership skills to ensure staff meets internal and external deliverables
Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,900.00 – $126,000.00 – $170,100.00
