Job Description The San Luis Resort, a 4 Diamond property located on the beach on beautiful Galveston Island, is in search of a reliable Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. He or she should be extremely detail-oriented and a team player. We need someone who can work with the Accounts Payable Clerk and our in-house Accountant to ensure that our books are always up-to-date and accurate so that we can make effective decisions about the business. He or she will perform General Cashier duties for the hotel. If you have a head for numbers, we want to hear from you.
- Enter and balance accounts receivable and payable on a daily basis
- Perform duties of General Cashier.
- Assist with other accounting projects in the office
- Track deposits made to bank and handle deposit transfers
- Assemble financial data for audits
- Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges
- Maintain orderly financial filing system
- Reconcile department accounts monthly and prepare reports to present to management
- Track tax payments and compile information for tax filing
- Supervise all regular accounting processes such as A/P and Journal Entries plus monthly closure accounts.
- Organize all company financial programs and ensure compliance to budgetary requirements.
- Analyze and forecast financial requirements for organization.
- Supervise and ensure efficient working of all financial transactions in organization.
- Monitor and implement all accounts payable check activation and wire transactions.
- Assist departments in account reconciliation process on monthly basis.
- Monitor authorized account reconciliation process.
- Administer all bank transactions and oversee data recording procedures monthly.
- Provide support to auxiliary schedules for auditing purposes as per assigned work.
- Analyze different general ledger accounts regularly.
- Develop budgetary plans for processes as per requirement.
- Prepare journal entries and synthesize common ledger for subsidiary accounts.
- Collate bank statements on monthly basis.
- Design and prepare audit schedules for external audit processors.
- Provide support to safe keeping of internal expenses in company.
- Monitor account reconciliation, tax and calculations inclusive of cost accounting plus factory data recording processes.
