Big Blue Swim School is a fast-growing, mission-driven company that aims to show kids they can do anything by unlocking their full potential in the water. We are hiring for a General Manager to oversee ongoing operations in the Fairfax area. The General Manager position will have continuous training, opportunities for growth, and the ability to manage a dominant brand.
The General Manager is the senior site leader responsible for thorough knowledge of all processes and procedures pertaining to facility maintenance and operations, front-desk customer service, lesson quality, staff training and performance. This role ensures every function of the Big Blue facility is operating in a superior, professional, and fun manner. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, have great communication skills, and driven to succeed within the company.
General Manager Responsibilities:
Manage the facility’s training, scheduling, hiring, and performance assessment, including ensuring the facility is properly staffed at all times.
Problem solve facility issues and customer concerns in a professional manner.
Create a positive and fun learning environment for all students.
Engage in continuous training opportunities for all staff.
Oversee facility budgets, meet financial targets and implement revenue generating initiatives.
Maintain proper pool chemicals and pump room operations.
Ensure safety of patrons and staff in the facility at all times.
General Manager Requirements:
Significant previous management experience including leading large teams
Ability to provide high level service and create a strong sense of community for customer base
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
Strong critical thinking skills and proactive approach to problem solving
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time
