Kforce’s client, a growing governmental/non-profit entity in the Grand Rapids, MI area is looking to add a Director of Finance to their executive leadership team. The position will manage a team of 10 plus staff. This is a Hybrid work environment, upwards of 3-4 days a week working remote.Responsibilities:
Director of Finance will effectively lead a professional and highly competent team; Set goals and direction
Provide ongoing feedback; Develop, mentor, and motivate direct reports; Lead by setting a good example; Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, and cohesive team effort
Actively participate in the Executive Leadership Team
Oversee proper operations of all accounting functions
Oversee financial intake, billing procedures, and claims processing are efficient, secure, and in compliance with legal and contractual requirements
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and procedures by government accounting standards board and generally accepted accounting principles
As a Director of Finance, you will ensure application of claims and billing principles as they apply to maintaining financial control and accounting records
Develop and implement policies and procedures ensuring all policies, procedures and practices comply with federal, state, and local requirements as well as financial accountability and reporting requirements
Prepare and submit an annual budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
Prepare the monthly financial statements, budget change requests, and the annual audit
Prepare and submit required quarterly and annual financial reports to the State of Michigan
Plan and manage the annual independent year-end financial audit, including preparing the audited financial statements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
CGFM, CPA, or CMA certification
At least five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience
At least two years of leadership experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
