KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the HR Manager supports the leadership team in continuing to build and foster a culture of collaboration, collegiality and unmatched client service. The HR Manager is an engaging, experienced individual who provides administrative and operational support to ensure FHC’s greatest asset – its team members – provides administrative and operational support to a small national consulting firm of highly skilled professionals and data analysts.
The HR Manager will support our mission by providing the following services:
· Talent acquisition, including developing creative and compelling job postings, support broad distribution of job postings to achieve high visibility, particularly among candidates from historically-marginalized communities, screening potential employees, reference checks
· New employee onboarding and training– company operations, policies, procedures, data security, etc.
· Conduct all activities for an orderly exit for separated or terminated staff
· Liaison to staff on administration of compensation, health, and welfare benefits
· Performance review coordination
· Records management
· COVID and other safety and health oversight
· Employee relations
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the role that effective HR management and benefits administration play in building a confident, nimble, collaborative workforce. Key skills include:

The position is a .8 FTE level of effort (32 hours per week) on a regular schedule during FHC core business hours (10-4 ET).

Specific Duties
1. Human Relations – Hiring and Benefits Administration
· Serve as point of contact for all questions related to HR/internal processes
· Post jobs
· Review applicants
· Screen applicants
· Set up interviews
· New Employees
· New employee paperwork/onboarding.
· Develop onboarding, training, offboarding materials, Coordinate process
· Notify JMK to set up new employee VPN & email
· Arrange phone extension
· Arrange equipment for new employees, include maintaining inventory of equipment
· Insurance enrollment
· 401k & FSA
· Train employee to use Mavenlink
· Set up employee in Checkwriters
· Register in any new states
· Separated Employees
· Collect equipment; notify IT security management
· Cancel insurances, give COBRA info
· Inform individual’s state’s unemployment insurance
· Annual update of employee handbook
· Coordinate annual performance review process
· Point of contact for all benefits questions and related problem resolution
· Track PTO, VTO and comp time and respond to questions about balances and accrual
· Interns
· Record and treat as new employees
· Terminate when internship ends
· Provide routine and/or ad hoc coaching on “difficult conversations”
· Clarify and enhance pathways for reporting and resolving internal conflict
· Coordinate roll out and implementation of company-developed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice initiatives as they are developed
2. Payroll
· Add new employees
o Set up file
· Make changes to employees
· Submit bi-weekly payroll in Checkwriters
o Using Mavenlink to:
§ make sure fulltime staff have 80 hours
§ to determine part time staffs’ hours
§ to record PTO
· Use payroll to reimburse staff for expenses
· Maintain state tax requirements
· Balance quarterly statements
· Bi-weekly reporting of 401k contributions to First National
· Monthly reconciliation of 401k deposits
· Monthly reconciliation of Flex spending account
