The Human Resources Benefits group is responsible for offering comprehensive benefits plans and wellness programs to our employees, including healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, life and disability insurance, on-site health and wellness centers, and employee assistance programs.
In this role you will have the opportunity to support financial operations across the Benefits function. You will collaborate with external partners (consultants, medical carriers) and multiple internal stakeholders (Senior Benefits managers, Corporate Controllers, Legal, etc) that support the Benefits team. This role is a full-time position based in our Jersey City office with the Benefits Design and Strategy team.
Job Responsibilities
Processing of daily administration of healthcare and insured benefit program financial activities (Funding medical claims, premiums and fees)
Complete plan reconciliations for benefit plan trust accounts, checking accounts and general ledger accounts
Assistance with management of internal HR Benefits vendor and consulting budgets
Team responsible for all regulatory preparation and filings (e.g. Form 5500s, Summary Annual Reports)
Analyze potential operational improvement. Make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.)
Collaborate with external partners (consultants, medical carriers) and multiple internal stakeholders (Senior benefits managers, Finance Department, Accounting, etc)
Produce and analyze senior management materials on the U.S. benefits spend, particularly the U.S. Medical Plan
Required qualification, capabilities, and skills
3 years of financial background experience; specifically knowledge in operational payment transactions
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power point skills
Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Interpreting and forecasting of financial information
Comfortable with a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and flexible to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with U.S. benefits plan reporting
Strong presentation skills
Effective verbal and written communications skills
