Director of Finance Description:
As the Director of Finance, you would provide leadership, direction, and motivation to all aspects of the Jefferson Hills financial operations. The Director of Finance ensures the accounting policies and procedures follow GAAP and FASB guidelines, as well as various federal, state, local, and accreditations that Jefferson Hills adheres to.
Schedule is 40 hours a week Monday through Friday, with flexibility.
Pay: $90,000 annually

Jefferson Hills is a trail blazer in providing intensive residential programs since 1993. In 2011, we started our hospital alternative and child/youth crisis stabilization units. Through evidence-based practices and a therapeutic approach, we have served over 12,000 Colorado youth, ages 5-18 ½ in our CSU programs. Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed clinicians, certified teachers, milieu counselors, teacher’s aides, and administrative personnel work together to meet the needs of our youth through New Vistas CSU and our day treatment program (Jefferson Hills Academy).

Job Duties:
Ensures that accounting policies and procedures follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), applicable Financial Accounting and Standards Board (FASB) guidelines, and that criteria set forth in the Colorado Department of Human Services Office of Health and Rehabilitation Services procedures, CMS, Mental Health Services Accounting & Audit Guidelines, and other applicable standards established by federal, state, and local regulatory and funding authorities are incorporated into the financial policies and procedures.
Implements and monitors procedures that utilize and protect the 501.C.3 tax exempt status of the organization.
Prepares the annual operating budget, cash flow, revenue & expenditure, debt and capital, other forecasts based on sound, reasonable methodologies.
Ensures that tax filings and other required external reporting are completed in a timely, accurate manner.
Provides regular reporting to the Executive Director, Board of Directors and/or finance committee, and executive management.
Collaborates with the executive management team in contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization; Integrates Continuous Quality Improvement processes and provides analytical data.
Complete initial and on-going training.

Education/Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related business degree, plus eight years of accounting experience including four years of supervisory management experience. A Master’s Degree may be substituted for two years of experience; an additional six years of senior level accounting management experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Solid command of GAAP accounting principles, practices, and associated computer systems and interfaces.
Ability to apply skills and critical thinking to contribute to the success of organizational priorities that may lie outside of the normal accounting function.
Ability to think conceptually and deal decisively with practical matters.
Able to pass a drug test, including marijuana.
Able to pass background checks.
At least 21 years of age.
