Major purpose : Excellent Organization, Communication and presentation Skills. Knowledge of health care marketing and community resources, management of admissions process including VOB applications and third party reimbursement.
Qualifications :
1. Business Administration degree and / or 3-5 years directly related health care experience.
2. Can communicate both verbally and in writing.
3. Must have excellent presentation and organization skills.
4. Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in performance of duties.
5. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admissions process with a nursing facility.
Physical Requirements : .
1. Must function independently, have flexibility, personnel integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies.
2. Must be in good health and display emotional stability.
3. Can relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
Primary Functions :
1. Identify and develop potential referral sources.
2. Increase referral sources.
3. Maximize the census through effective marketing.
4. Generate public relations and marketing opportunities.
5. Receive incoming referrals from hospitals, community agencies and families.
6. Coordinate Admissions meetings each day with appropriate team to speed up the process.
7. Speak and / or meet with families about specific admissions requirements and placement procedures.
8. Supervise the readmission process.
9. Attend administrative staff meetings. in-services, and appropriate professional meetings and workshops.
10. Provide supervision to the admissions coordinator and assume the duties of the position upon absence.
11. Contact area hospitals, community agencies and groups to promote and maintain good working relationships.
Expectations :
1. Attend mandatory in-services held at the facility.
2. Understand responsibility concerning infection control, safety, accident and fire prevention.
3. Discuss any problems, needs or concerns that arise with Administrator.
4. Understands and upholds the Residents’ Bill of Rights and holds all resident information confidential.
