The Caregiving (patient care) volunteer provides personal care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with organization policies. This is not a paid position; it is on a voluntary basis only. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Successful completion of the hospice’s volunteer training and orientation programPrevious volunteer experience may be helpful.
Essential Functions: Serves as an integral member of the hospice team in the administrative/office setting.Participates in volunteer general orientation and additional training as appropriate to assigned duties.Participates in volunteer educational in-services.
Completes assignments as requested and assigned.Documents volunteer services accurately and appropriatelyMaintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator or designee.May have access to personal health information (PHI) necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities.
