Position
Summary:
The Sr. Staff Accountant will perform month-end and year-end close processes, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for month-end and year-end close processes.
Reconciles all balance sheet accounts to the general ledger.
Responsible for bank reconciliations.
Compiles and issues a weekly cash flow analysis.
Responsible for proper accounting related to deposits and withdrawals, and line of credit.
Prepares journal entries for all business units and inputs into the G/L system.
Supports the Accounts Payable process.
Responsible for all pre-paid accounts and accounting.
Fixed Assets Accounting including depreciation, amortization, and net book value.
Working knowledge of capital expense methodology and classifications.
Assists with the maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Disseminates information to external auditors for annual audit as requested.
Ad hoc reporting.
Performs other activities and duties as deemed necessary.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
2-4 years of accounting or financial experience required
Experience and proficiency with spreadsheet applications (Excel, etc.)
Proficient in Accounting theory and GAAP
Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
Ability to work independently and offer solutions
Experience with automated General Ledger and Accounts Payable systems
Ability to interact professionally with agency business associates such as vendors, bankers, etc.
