Corporate Controller

IFG’s client is a data driven manufacturing and advertising company (mid-sized) with a consistent track record of 15% growth with a profitable EBITDA. They have been voted as a Top Place to Work and recently the company has bolted on operational functions. The time has come for a Controller who can lead accounting in the departments growth and build relationships cross-functionally. The position can be performed primarily remotely, but they are only considering local candidates who can come into the IL office when weekly.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will function as a hands-on business leader working with the senior management team to implement and execute financial and operational strategies
• Responsibilities will include GAAP accounting, financial close, reporting, equity accounting and administration, deal integration, internal controls and tax, and implementing scalable systems and processes to support our continued expansion
• The successful candidate will have experience managing accounting in a production environment and an eagerness to solve challenging problems, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in a dynamic environment
• Direct all aspects of accounting operations, including timely and accurate general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and preparation of internal management financial reports
• Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance for all necessary accounting policies and procedures; review line of business accounting practice to ensure GAAP compliance
• Ensure the integrity, completeness, accuracy and financial statement presentation of the company’s financial statements
• Manage the process for annual external audit; work with external auditors to enable timely review of external financial statements
• Work closely with VP, Financial Systems for successful implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of financial systems
• Maintain accurate daily cash forecasting in order to make timely cash management decisions
• Assist in providing information to private equity owner and related parties
• Provide mentoring and staff development

Requirements:

• CPA
• Public accounting experience
• 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Controller level responsibility
• Recent manufacturing experience
• Tax experience a huge plus
• Track record of driving process improvement.
• Demonstrated ability in leading accounting and financial reporting functions, including support in business administration, managing audits, and ERP customizations/implementations
• Advanced knowledge and skill with excel and the ability to automate tasks
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s accounting policy and its implementation according to the latest GAAP requirements.
