Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will support domestic and international accounting operations. This position will be hands-on and involved in the Accounts Payable (AP) and general accounting and reporting functions to ensure delivery of timely, efficient, and accurate financial reporting. Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, eager to learn and highly motivated, possess solid Excel skills, detail oriented, self-starter, independent yet enjoy being part of a team, flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage AP – including match and process invoices; prepare weekly AP aging; perform monthly AP reconciliation by vendor; and annual Form 1099 filings
• Enter new, approved vendors into general ledger system
• Research and act as liaison for accounting department to resolve AP issues with vendors
• Support weekly AP check runs – including securing required approvals, payment application; payment processing; and communicating remittance details to vendors
• Maintain relationships with supporting departments, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions
• Perform monthly audits of billbacks
• Manage assigned month-end and year-end close activities including but not limited to posting journal entries (AP, prepaid assets, accruals, employee expense reimbursements, fixed assets depreciation/amortization, other recurring)
• Support monthly financial reporting and preparation of monthly KPI’s
• Reconcile select balance sheet accounts and follow up on reconciling items
• Perform P&L and variances analyses for collaborative team review
• Audit employee expense reimbursements on a monthly basis
• Work closely with business units to develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Prepare schedules with supporting documentation for annual external audits and tax related authorities
• Complete special projects as needed
• Participate in cross-training to support team as needed
• Other duties as may be needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business
• Certified Public Accountant or in process a plus
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• 2+ years of relevant professional accounting experience
• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics etc.; GL conversion/implementation experience a plus
• Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
• Possess a high level of initiative with ability to develop solutions, generate new, and unique ideas following through to execution
