What You’ll Do

As the Bookkeeper you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Finance department. This includes a variety of tasks like accounts payable and receivable, scheduling appointments, assisting with purchasing and creating purchase orders, processing paperwork, and assisting with administrative duties as needed to support the business and areas in meeting overall goals.

Your Accountabilities In The Role

• Sorts, codes and enters accounts payable data into the accounting system, ensuring information entered is accurately and efficiently recorded.
• Receives, verifies and enters accounts receivable payments and prepares vendor payments for mailing in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Handles daily transactions/reporting for accounting, ensuring data is accurate and posted correctly.
• Assists with the preparation and coordination of the interfacing of information, data, and reporting to other areas of the business to ensure smooth and complete processes.
• Assists with the audits and reconciliation of the ledger, data, and other accounts to ensure cross-checks and balances are in place.
• Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings, along with preparing financial statements, following company/GAAP guidelines.
• Assists with the ordering of materials based on current inventory levels and production needs, ensuring production schedules and project budgets are met.
• Supports the recruitment process through comprehensive posting, screening, orientation, payroll processing, coordinating training and performance development processes to promote employee engagement and retention.

Position Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma required; will consider a combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in Financial or Accounting within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Certifications: NA
• Functional Skills: Good at reviewing and validating data, highly detail oriented with the ability to research and problem-solve, excellent data entry skills to timely and accurately enter data into ERP/Accounting systems; Strong prioritization and organization skills along with a process focused mindset are needed to perform well in this role. Able to manage multiple priorities effectively to meet department goals and deadlines.
• Technology Skills: Solid Microsoft 365 Office Skillset, with a high proficiency in Excel; ability to learn and use ERP systems is also important for this role.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with others effectively via email or on the phone.
• Leadership/ Behaviors: Customer-focused, self-driven and can own the role; trustworthy, dependable and can handle confidential matters appropriately. Able to work independently with a strong sense of urgency to meet timelines.

Other Important Information

Pay/Salary: Approximately $45,000 to $65,000 annual salary opportunity.

Reports To: Finance Director

Core Hours: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule is flexible; will work approx. 8 – 8.5 hours within this timeframe)

Typical Work Week: M-F; 40 – 45 hours a week on average
