In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Primary Responsibilities:
Provides a broad range of Finance/Accounting services. In support of strategic objectives, this position interacts with FM&T leaders & NNSA Finance counterparts, to resolve related business issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Acts independently to uncover and resolve issues.
Ensures compliance with established accounting policies and procedures and NNSA regulations and helps ensure a sound internal controls environment.
Anticipates business needs and develops analytical data to support decision making.
Implements initiatives in partnership with division leaders in support of the organization’s strategic objectives.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate financials to the business units.
Solves complex issues related to the interpretation and application of accounting policies and procedures and explores alternative solutions to improve company’s financial reporting.
Uses financial modeling and accounting knowledge to help Division determine the most effective and efficient uses of available funding.
Uses financial reporting, customized as necessary and reasonable, to support financial requirements.
Manages multiple and ad hoc requests in a timely manner.
Provides proactive support in budget process, variance analysis and forecasting.
Leverages an understanding of inter-relationships between Fund Accounting and divisional labor and expenses to influence and advise stakeholders.
Brings financial best practices to Division, utilizes Six Sigma skills and contributes to Finance initiatives. Works under consultative direction.
Advises New Mexico Division Director on the financial implications of strategies and tactics. Represents divisional management, as directed, in meetings or appropriate functions, including direct customer interface on assigned projects.
Prepares and delivers presentations and operational reviews for senior as well as division management. Proactively communicates early.
Oversees program funding and advises program management of funding status, costs and commitments to mitigate financial risk.
You Must Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum of 7 years Finance or Accounting experience.
US Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy “”Q”” level security clearance.

Honeywell Finance experience or Finance/Accounting experience preferred
