Director of Finance
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
We have an exciting Director of Finance opportunity with a venture-backed company- HAAS Alert that’s focused on cloud infrastructure for transportation. We are seeking a growing leader to join and help scale a high-performing finance team that shapes the company’s strategy and roadmap. HAAS Alert has outperformed the market during the tech downturn and they just closed a significant funding round to execute on our future growth plans.
Finance is a critical function at HAAS Alert; driving actionable insights, providing guidance, and ultimately holding us all accountable to KPI’s. Reporting to the CFO, this newly created role will provide key partnership to the functional leaders. Initially, you’ll manage one analyst and be responsible for both strategic and corporate finance initiatives. We are expanding a small team, so expect to be very hands-on, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the organization while wearing a wide variety of hats. You will be one of the go-to sources for the company to understand key strategic levers and their impact on the business.
About you:
● Experience in high growth SaaS companies
● Advanced financial modeling skills, including cash flow forecasts and financial statement preparation
● A strong and proactive personality, can hold your own and know when and how to push back
● Proven track record of presenting findings and data to executive management in a clear and concise manner
● Bonus points for experience with CRMs and various SaaS and accounting platforms
Responsibilities:
● Lead the planning cycles of including annual Plan and quarterly forecast updates and compile results for reporting to the Board. Includes providing strategic input in completion of and decisions related to consolidated results.
● Develop a deep understanding of our clients business drivers to forecast cash and P&L expenses.
● Partner closely with functional leaders to drive optimal budget decision making.
● Provide financial analysis as required by various levels of management, including the CFO, VP of Sales and other stakeholders.
● Responsible for compiling the monthly financial statements and preparing cash flow analysis to make investment decisions.
● Contribute to development of executive level presentations for quarterly board meetings.
● Build out reporting capabilities including partnering with RevOps to leverage all relevant information sources to enhance visibility of KPIs and business performance.
● Support of strategic priorities including systems implementations, new product launches, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA/CPA and/or advanced degree a plus.
● Experience in a high-growth (preferably SaaS) organization. B2B sector experience a plus but not required.
● 9+ years of progressive Finance(FP&A).
● Exceptional financial modeling skills with an ability to create sustainable and reliable models to enable better understanding and decision making.
● Strong analytical skills – able to synergize data into information to make decisions, able to make recommendations and proposals.
● Demonstrated project management skills and experience, which includes project leadership in organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation, across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines.
● Demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced organization, building strong partnerships, and accessing available resources.
● High personal integrity, energy and objectivity.
● Process focused with experience in implementing process improvements or other change management initiatives.
● Ability for managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Location:
● This role is hybrid and you come into work at HAAS Alerts main office in Chicago(Lincoln Park) two days per week.
