Role Overview
As a Data Entry Clerk, you will collaborate with a Data Manager or senior team member to input data accurately and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for maintaining up-to-date and reliable information in our digital database, which is essential for the smooth operation of our organization.
Responsibilities
Input data from paper sources into digital databases using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
Type in data provided by customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Create error-free spreadsheets containing extensive numerical data.
Verify data accuracy by cross-referencing with source documents.
Update and edit existing data as needed.
Retrieve requested information from the digital database or electronic files.
Regularly perform data backups to ensure information preservation.
Organize and sort paperwork after data entry to prevent loss.
Requirements And Skills
Proven experience as a data entry clerk.
Proficient and speedy typing skills; familiarity with touch typing preferred.
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Office Word, Excel).
Familiarity with office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices.
Basic understanding of databases and data management principles.
Strong command of written and spoken English, along with solid customer service skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
High school diploma or equivalent.
