SUMMARY:
• The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the President and has regular communication with the Board of Directors.
• Responsible for measurement and analysis of financial and operational data at ERI, monitoring and directing strategic initiatives and, as part of the ERI Leadership Team, implementing strategic growth and efficiency measures to enhance overall business success.

Strong candidates are likely to have contract manufacturing and/or professional services company accounting and leadership experience, be highly driven, and team oriented and may currently be a high performing financial or business operations role that wants an opportunity to contribute as a valued leadership executive. The person who takes this position will be a strong leader and excellent communicator who can manage “up and down” in the organization and has the “gravitas” to function as the lead finance and business strategy executive in the Company. The role requires seeking the “best idea in the room,” and champions execution of ERI Group’s operational and financial vision as set forth by the President, Board of Directors, and the Senior Management team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• With ERI senior leadership, develop strategic growth plans and annual budgets. Develop budget management tools and use them to communicate internally and to the Board of Directors on progress and results, driving & optimizing profitability, and business financial results.
• Own and develop critical KPIs with a focus on those KPIs that add quantifiable value and allow for early management decision making in a timely manner and drive high performance from our team at all levels of the organization.
• Assist ERI leadership in financial and business model management of their growing manufacturing business, ensuring state-of-art approaches to operations, financial management, cash flow / workflow for optimal business impact.
• Assist ERI leadership in definition of new services, business models and potential acquisition targets for business growth. Routinely lead such projects to successful conclusion, including process integration and financial reporting.
• Manage Board communication and information, streamlining communication and gaining key stakeholder buy-in.
• Manage ERI Finance function, including budget creation and tracking, financial strategic planning, management of key relationships such as bank, legal and insurance vendors, etc. to ensure strong relationships and excellent service. Overall management of financial risk and communication to ERI management of actions required to mitigate, inclusive of compliance management with lending partners, supervision of audit and tax reporting and filing etc.
• As a member of ERI Management team, partake in direction setting for a growing and dynamic business and lead change where needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the President of ERI.
Line supervision of ERI Controller and functional areas consisting of IT, Facilities, Insurance, etc.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
• Experience in medical device development and contract manufacturing a plus. Ideally experience in fee-for-service consulting and contract engineering services.
• Familiar with the language and basic processes of the medical device and diagnostics industries is a plus. Detailed knowledge of business processes in highly regulated industries essential.
• Experience managing or engaging with highly technical specialist staff, to enable credible communication internally with our team of technical experts.
• Board management and communication experience, ideally focused on private equity.
• Financial modelling, budget creation and development of tools for tracking and communication of actuals to budget in a proven and value-adding manner
• Proven track record of driving business growth, strategic plan implementation and delivering operational success, ideally in a fee-for-service model or a contract manufacturing model (or both). Proven track record of adaptability to change.
• Finance leadership, strategic financial review, and use of financial data for business decision making and optimization. Proven track record of driving efficiency and value.
• Experience defining and implementing business intelligence metrics and direct experience with ‘power-BI’ would be ideal. Direct experience with Celoxis and / or Epicor a plus. (Competence in MS platform assumed)
• Experience defining and implementing new service offerings and associated business models is a plus. Experience in due diligence and acquisitions would also be a “nice to have”.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are a must. Proven track record of delivering complex data, gaining understanding, managing diverse stakeholders and driving discussion to conclusion, known to build consensus and drive to results. Strong organizational and self-management skills and highly motivated to succeed.
• Proven track record of change implementation to success. While this is a strategic role, implementation will largely be self-led and the individual must be able and willing to see projects to the finish line, engage at all levels of the organization and with all types of partners and customers and flex to deliver.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related technical field.
• Advanced business degree and / or CPA highly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in related roles.
