JOB SUMMARY: Accountable for the accounting operations of the Hospital District to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Hospital District’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditor for the annual audit and cost report
Ensure that payables are expensed correctly, paid timely, and appropriate discounts are taken
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statement and benchmarks
Maintain the chart of accounts, as well as an orderly accounting filing system
Oversee the operation of the accounting department, including the structure for achieving the departments goals and objectives
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Provide financial analyses as requested by senior leadership
Maintain a system of controls over account transactions
Maintain a documented system of account policies and procedures
