Eaton Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) organization is seeking a North America (NA) Controller. This position is located in Syracuse, NY and relocation assistance is offered. This position requires 20% travel.
What you’ll do:
The NA Controller is one of the top financial leadership roles reporting to the VP of Finance, in the >$1 billion dollar North America GEIS business. You will have the opportunity to work with the North America leadership team, the Group financial leadership team, and the Corporate finance teams.
You will be responsible for providing leadership to the North America finance organization in accordance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements, and US GAAP. Also be responsible for commercial controlling and oversight with regard to strategy, product line performance & profitability, support of sales outgrowth & ROPs, NPI investment and ROI, and portfolio & complexity management.
You will drive deployment and execution of Finance Transformation initiatives. Focusing on continuous improvements within the finance function, creating and implementing policies and procedures to maintain an effective and efficient controls environment, and provide transparency and analytics of results.
As the NA Controller, you will provide guidance and support in consolidating, reporting, and analyzing monthly results, forecasts and plans. You must provide insightful business analyses to senior management to support the development of objectives and action plans. This position is highly visible and will work cross-functionally with the leadership of the North America organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure the existence and competency of financial systems and procedures to comply with US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and corporate policies and procedures to guarantee the integrity of financial reporting. Support requirements of auditors as needed.
Drive process improvements to deliver on stakeholders’ critical requirements.
Perform special analyses to support strategic business decision-making; inclusive of financial analysis in support of strategic initiatives, capital investments, changing business models, acquisition activity, make vs. buy analysis, pricing models, etc.
Recommend, review, and provide input to Corporate and Sector on changes to Financial Policies and Procedures. Lead the development of region-specific policies where required.
Leads the development of the region’s strategic plan financials, annual profit plan, and monthly closing and rolling forecasts.
Leads operating reviews with the North America leadership team and Group leadership.
Provide leadership to the finance organization in recruiting and developing top talent. Support of an inclusive culture with a diverse workforce.
Assist in the development and execution of long-term strategy across the product portfolio including product innovation and portfolio management, globalization, commercialization excellence, end-market diversification, and operations excellence.
Create standard work associated with analyzing/prioritizing, tracking, and executing outgrowth investments including NPI and penetration globally. Specific focus on partnering with engineering, product management and program management on NPI ROI, BOC quality and ProLaunch improvements. This also includes aligning outgrowth investments to financial performance within regional plans through ROPs.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution
Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
Multi-site or regional experience
Strong business acumen, knowledge of US GAAP, an understanding of international business, and a working knowledge of financial systems are requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (MBA)
Experience in leveraging corporate functions and shared services or leadership assignment in Corporate or shared services.
Previous experience within a manufacturing organization and commercial organizations
Breadth of experience, including driving both an organic and inorganic growth agenda, leading through a financial downturn and related restructuring, contributing toward successful complex commercial transactions

The expected annual salary range for this role is $136500.03 – $200200.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
