Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports to: Controller
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Accounting Specialist is a vital position within Durr Heavy Construction. Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payables and Payroll admin. This position also serves as a point of contact to assist Subcontractors/Suppliers and Project Managers with questions regarding payment for work performed on jobs and Durr employees expense reports.

The Take Charge ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR:
Processes payments on time with zero late fees
Verifies proper approval for payments and maximizes discounts
Meets deadlines for monthly financial close
Ensures timely processing of payroll
Reconciles wage garnishments and voluntary deductions
Prepares fiscal year-end reports and report errors in payroll to the Controller
Processes certified payroll reports and correspondence
Setup certified payroll per jobs and make sure Durr is 100% complaint with the Davis Bacon Act

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education and/or Experience:
3 to 5 years of relative experience in Accounting. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit; Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and business equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. This job operates in a clerical, office setting. The employee is not regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
