We are seeking a Senior Manager in Finance and Accounting who is a well-rounded leader, with experience in leading operations globally, while proactively driving results and optimizing processes. This role will be a key member of the Financial Operations and Transformation group, reporting to the AVP. We are looking for someone who is a highly effective leader, with dynamic skillsets in critical problem solving, communication, building relationships, developing teams, creating effective strategies, and sharing business insights.
They will lead ongoing royalty accounting operations, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including the management and oversight of our content finance team.
In this role you will…
This leader will develop and implement strategies to scale the content finance operations team and related systems, while maintaining quality and accuracy. They will also globally lead people and teams, driving controls and efficiencies, implementing process and system improvements, overseeing balance sheet and income statement results, understanding the P&L drivers and levers, creating, and delivering executive summaries and presentations, and leading other finance transformation efforts.
Be a subject matter expert for global royalties processing, including understanding of the business model, revenue streams, accounting processes and P&L results
Review of balance sheet and income statement line items
Analyze and assess content finance operations workflows, transactions, processes, and reports
Develop scalable processes and policies to support department goals and key metrics
Liaison with internal partners including Content Business, Sales, Legal, HR, Procurement and Accounting
Ensure timely royalty & content partner payment and reporting – Liaise with partners directly for incoming queries about partner payouts and payment processing and ensure timely resolution of arising issues
Lead a team with varied strengths at various levels and across multiple locations to accomplish tasks accurately and within specified deadlines either as direct reports or as part of a shared Services group
Provide performance management and coaching to staff and is responsible for personal and professional development of staff including the development of goals and objectives for self as well as direct reports
Set a tone of collaboration and teamwork, with high expectations, among the accounting and finance teams
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the operational and accounting processes including reconciliation of data, reporting, and analysis
Lead month-end close processes which includes tasks such as but not limited to reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, reserve models, reviewing non-revenue contracts for accounting assessment and conducting fluctuation analyses
Support audits, both internal and external
Drive projects through to completion
You’ve got what it takes if you have…
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Motivated self-starter with a desire to learn, develop their knowledge base and take ownership
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 740
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and be a team player
Experience working in a team under pressure to meet deadlines
Microsoft Excel experience & pivot tables.
Working knowledge of Oracle

Consideration for privacy and security obligations
Extra Dose of Awesomeness if you have…
CPA or equivalent designation
Experience with business acquisitions and integrations
Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud
