Position Overview
Key responsibilities of the Financial & Accounting Manager include:
1. Strategic
· Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information Top Management and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
· Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants as required.
· Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis
· Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting; Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
· Complete analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
· Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g., asset acquisition, new business).
3. Finance
· Develop and maintain banking relationships for the company.
· Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
· Oversee financing strategies and activities.
4. Planning and Policy
· Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
· Develop financial business plans and forecasts, as needed.
· Remain up to date on best practices and state and federal law regarding operations.
· Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
· Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
The Financial & Accounting Manager will be expected to but not limited to:
· Oversee and prepare all financial reports in accordance with requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines:
· Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations are reconciled on a timely basis.
· Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues. This includes the accurate and timely management of accounts receivables, accounts payables, cash balances, and timely deposits of all funds.
· Monitor revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines.
· Assist in overseeing compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes (Sales, Property, Income, etc.). Aid management in enforcing compliance on all these items.
· Continually monitor all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, etc.
· Train, supervise and develop staff, including coaching, counseling and discipline.
· Attend and contribute to periodic meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees to promote morale, productivity and efficiency.
· Verify compliance and provide oversight in meeting required report deadlines and due dates.
