About This Job
The role will directly solicit companies with revenues between $10MM and $2Bln for general equipment finance and leasing opportunities in the assigned territory.
The position requires applicants to have the ability to critically review, analyze and structure commercial lease and loan transactions and attract new business to Commerce Bank.
Essential Functions
Directly originate equipment finance and leasing transactions in the assigned territory
Interact with clients, prospects, and referral sources both in person and through proactive phone calls
Develop and maintain relationships with Commerce Bank Relationship Managers to promote and close equipment finance and leasing opportunities
Responsible for the development and implementation of business plans in conjunction with the corporate strategies, plans and policies
Manage the territory through individual marketing plans and sales s utilizing the CRM system
Operate within the overall Commerce Bank organization as an effective team member to maximize cross selling opportunities and competitive leverage
Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct ‘s individual needs
Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required
Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively
Support budget management, planning and expenditure
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Strong knowledge of the general equipment finance and leasing, including knowledge of best practices
Strong customer service skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate, identify, and meet the customer’s financial needs
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business
Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience required
6+ years of successful sales experience in equipment lease origination required
3+ years leadership/supervisory experience required
