Lightsaber Manufacturing Shop Manager
We are the leaders in custom combat lightsabers and we are hiring a shop manager! The Shop Manager is responsible for the management of the 6 supervisors as they run our shop of 50 employees to build our lightsabers.
Additional responsibilities include a focus on employee retention, continuous operational improvement, and understanding basics electronics. Must have a strong commitment to organization and accountability.
- Ability to prepare and interpret basic electronics schematics and develop solutions to ensure manufacturing goals are achieved.
- Directs the supervisors by overseeing assigned shifts; monitors brand standards execution and adherence, and direct hourly staff to achieve fabrication and shipping of the highest quality product.
- Develops and coaches supervisors and hourly employees on brand standards, policies and procedures.
- Brings employee relations issues, deviations from brand standards, and other shop issues to the attention of the Company President; recommends and participates in the execution of corrective action as required.
- Ensures proper procedures are in place to protect employees, protect brand standards, and uphold shop organization.
- Enforces best practices for shop organization, shop cleanliness, & shop maintenance.
- Works to create and maintain an enjoyable and respectful environment for our employees.
- Willingness to assist others without being asked.
- Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to lift a box weighing up to 25 lbs
- Must understand basic electronics. What is a resistor? What is an LED? What is current? What is voltage? What is an ohm? These are all basic concepts you must know prior to taking the position.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift and grasp
- Must be know how to solder proficiently
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in the confined work area
- Must be able to work inside and outside the shop
- Must be able to observe staff and all aspects of shop operations
- Must be able to stand and walk during an 8 to 10-hour shift; occasional shifts over 10 hours may be required due to the demands of the business
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 per hour
