The Accounting & Finance Specialist I
will assist aspects of general clerical, payroll, book-keeping and
various monthly financial responsibilities. The Accounting & Finance
Specialist I will be responsible for maintaining positive customer and
employee relations on various Government Projects which is critical to
our Growth and Expansion.
The Accounting & Finance
Specialist I will also work along with Level II role and Manager in
Accounting & Finance Department.
Summary of
Essential Job Functions
Support day to day payroll and time
keeping audits
Support timely submission of bi-weekly payroll
to senior staff for approval.
Support monthly bills and
invoices to include; employee benefits administration and various
vendors
Monitor and Support Customer inquiries in mail inbox
Day to day collaboration with Human Resources and Contract
Management regarding payroll, billing and timekeeping
Maintain filing financial statements and reimbursements
Create and Manage excel spreadsheets
Day to day use of
QuickBooks and WAWF systems
Associates Degree in Business, Accounting or
Finance with 2 years’ experience. Or 5 years of Financial, Billing or
Payroll Clerical experience.
Experience with payroll
systems; preferably QuickBooks and Paylocity
Candidate should
have strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with
tact, savvy, assertive and diplomacy.
Candidate must have
problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills.
Must
be organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously/
multitask
Trust worthy with attention to detail and
confidentiality
Knowledgeable of payroll legislation and
regulations
Good IT Skills and proficient with MS Office
products, specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Solid
understanding of Accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices

Work Location:
Corporate Office Columbia, MD is
in prime office space, walking distance to mall, eateries and free
access to Corporate Gym. Based on District Assigned some Contract
Managers will have the ability to telecommute on occasion (must be
authorized by HR).
