Job Description:
We are looking for an outstanding Staff Accountant to join our wealth management firm! This is an opportunity to work in a small accounting department (four people) directly with our Corporate Controller, who has many years of experience and a CPA. She is a strong mentor who invests in her team members; you will grow in this position and advance in your career. You will have the ability to be cross-trained and gain exposure to a wide variety of different responsibilities.
The Staff Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with the Senior Staff Accountant and other Staff Accountant. Responsibilities will primarily be:
Process timely high volume expense reports via Concur
Prepare monthly invoices for consulting affiliate and track A/R
Prepare B&O and Personal Property Tax filings
Research state tax rates and state business licensing requirements
Prepare journal entries
Prepare financial statements and balance sheet supporting schedules
Prepare draft audited financial statements complete with notes
Liaise with external auditors and tax preparers as needed
Complete ad hoc projects from the Controller and other accounting team members
Required
Experience:
We are looking for a candidate who has:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (accounting major required)
3-4 years of relevant accounting experience
Intermediate Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Enterprise
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
The desire to work in a collaborative team
Great organizational skills and willingness to dive into the details
Ability to interpret and research accounting guidance
Self-motivation and execution focus, with the ability to track due dates and take individual responsibility for delivering quality work in a timely manner
Strong process and system skills, as well as the ability work effectively across functions to resolve issues
