Job Description
CoachCare is a venture-funded, fast-growing digital health business seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance and accounting functions. The CFO will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to achieve our growth objectives. The ideal candidate will not only understand current accounting practices and trends, but will also have experience managing liquidity, raising both debt and equity capital and both buy and sell-side M&A. As a member of executive management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills, including critical communications with the Board of Directors and investors.
Responsibilities & Objectives
• Serve on the Executive Committee and present financial results, plans and analysis to the Board of Directors
• Take full ownership and responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and drive the company’s financial strategy
• Lead the development of annual operating, capital, and functional budgets, as well as reporting for the same
• Ensure cash flow supports operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization
• Comply with national, state and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action
• Research new revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
• Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
• Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (ex: payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
• Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities
• Manage annual audit and tax filings
Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications
• 15+ years of progressive experience in executive financial leadership roles at SaaS, tech-enabled services and/or healthcare IT businesses
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
• Strong data analysis skills
• Deep understanding of accounting, tax, and regulatory subject matter
• Demonstrated history of raising significant capital as the primary finance leader (must provide specifics of rounds raised, type of capital, etc.)
• Demonstrated history of participating in the growth of a business to $50 million+ revenue
• Demonstrated history of guiding the sale of a lower middle market business to financial and strategic buyers (must provide specifics of transaction(s) completed)
• Proven track record of leading acquisitions and post-acquisition integrations
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
• Experience at top tier accounting, investment banking and/or consulting firm(s)
• Professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant)
• Prior experience as CFO for venture and private equity-backed businesses
Compensation and Benefits
• Annual base salary: $300,000
• Annual bonus opportunity: 25% of base salary
