DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
The Financial & Accounting Management (HRFAM) division in the Human Resources department is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting of the self-insured health benefits, long term disability and workers’ compensation programs. The HRFAM division is seeking an individual with an analytical nature, who is eager to learn new things, with high standards, and customer focus. The ideal candidate should be able to perform financial and statistical analysis, provide on-going, timely and accurate ad hoc financial and data analysis, evaluations, and recommendation reports to support decision-making processes. Focus on forecasting future results, analyzing trends looking for possible challenges before financial impacts are realized.
The role and duties of a Financial Analyst III will include but not limited to:
In this role, the Financial Analyst III must be reliable, highly organized and maintain confidentiality with excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Must work equally well independently and in teams with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as word, excel, and PowerPoint.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has some discretion about walking, standing, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE
Four years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or a closely related area are required.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the above experience requirement.

PREFERENCES
Preferences will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
*Advanced Microsoft applications and SAP
*Power BI
*Proficiency in accounting and auditing
*Analytical financial operations’ research skill
Prefer individuals with Analytic ability skills to gather and interpret data where answers can be found only after careful analysis of several facts. Strong attention to detail; solution-oriented individual who can work in a dynamic environment and think “outside of the box”. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to multi-task in a high volume fast-paced environment.
