Citigroup Looking for Transformation Initiative Director Finance at New York City, NY, United States Full Time

Job Description

The Regulatory & Cross-Enterprise Transformation group is newly established and will be responsible for providing oversight, standards and central reporting for Citi’s regulatory remediation and cross-company programs. The team will

have a number of Transformation Leads who will lead efforts aligned by Citi’s businesses , functions or critical cross-company priorities. This position will work alongside and in close partnership with the Transformation Leads and help to drive effective oversight of large transformation programs, including identifying and managing interdependencies between programs and providing transparency to Citi stakeholders.

This Transformation Initiative Director role will partner closely with Finance Transformation Lead to define and execute overall roadmap for managing the transformation across Finance with the standards, requirements and tools set by Transformation Office

• Develop and direct the communication strategy of status, issue and risk disposition for stakeholders, escalating any issues associated with the programs
• Rapidly and effectively communicate complicated issues and related data into concise and actionable information for senior stakeholders
• Drive consistent adoption of common project management standards, reporting, and tools across programs
• Define calendar of events and delivery of materials for Finance based on guidelines of Transformation Office, sequencing messaging throughout governance model
• Manage communications and information for dashboarding, status updates and senior presentation – including messaging, RAG ratings, risks/issues mitigation plans, status updates, adherence to dates and deliverables, and quality of deliverables.
• Drive clear and transparent reporting of program status to the Executive Management Team, relevant Board Committees and other senior executives.
• Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads
• Play a key role in supporting the evolution of transformation program capabilities, collaborate with stakeholders to confirm program scope meets business objectives, and identify opportunities and prioritize projects based on business need
• Appropriately assess risk and cross-enterprise dependencies when business decisions are made
• Action deliverables from reviews of each program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses the letter and the spirit of the regulatory feedback, broader supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causes, and is embedded in a broader strategic vision
• Drive acceleration of priority programs or provide support to at-risk programs, either through direct “hands on” leadership or through the elimination of bottlenecks or other obstacles
• Build and manage relationship and interaction model with the various Lines of Defense across management layers to create appropriate engagement and challenge of the Finance Transformation work
• Lead mapping and metrics exercises and information sharing for Finance Transformation — connecting the dots between CAO Transformation Office requests and documentation and work/output in the Finance Program Office

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience
• Track record of managing and reviewing large projects in complex operational environments
• Project/Program Delivery experience in a finance function and/or regulatory environment, preferably in the financial services industry
• General understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization. Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions. Proven track record and accountability in making quick decision that have an immediate impact on business
• Demonstrated history of seeing big picture, driving change and managing for results while executing against multiple competing priorities simultaneously
• Ability to plan, develop and lead initiatives
• Ability to inspire trust, influence others, promote collaboration and motivate with demonstrated ability to work with all levels
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver crisp executive summaries for senior management and the Board of Directors.
• A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently.
• Should demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
